Kids always have a lovie and for this guy it was his soft silky blue blanket. We used it as a seat, rolled around in it and snuggled in it. He was perfectly content. 
What a sweet little boy!
When I work with a child, I try to find their sweet spot — the cartoon character they most relate too. Or the princess they want to be. Or the mighty hero that can fly to and from one side of my studio to another. My goal is to get them to stop with the “cheese smile” and pull out that gorgeous real one. Like this!
These two are getting married next year — in April. I’m kinda partial to them because he’s a grad student at NCSU (my alma mater!). We spent a very, very nice evening at Jordan Lake just waiting for the sun to set so we could get that nice orange glow in some of their photos.
Jordan Lake is SO beautiful this time of year. As the sun sets the water turns a deep blue. It’s inviting, whether or not you actually want to swim.

This little one finished her first recital just a few weeks ago (with my girls!). They were the smallest of the entire recital and by far the cutest!! This one had all the moves down too … including the head shake in the song 9 to 5 by the wonderful Dolly Parton.
We had fun dancing around the studio and posing and repeating some of the dance moves as we created her images!
These guys are having a baby girl! In December 2007, our team photographed their wedding and soon they’ll be welcoming what will certainly be a gorgeous baby girl to their family! Unfortunately for them, though fortunate for you and me, he’s heading to Afghanistan with the Army. 
So we wish him safe travels and a safe return when his daughter arrives!!
It was a hot Friday morning last week when we met at the JC Raulston Arboretum for this family. The littlest had just turned 18 months, so it was time to get the whole gang together. Now with 11 people, one wonders how it’s possible to get them all looking.
I call it pure luck.
The little girl in the other photo wasn’t even the focus of the session, but man I LOVE that photo, so I had to show it off!

We had a bit of fun with big brother, then moved on to dress up and then on to the really important part of the day — cake! Though, despite our high expectations, our Cool-whip cake didn’t have the same appeal as the birthday girls’ ice cream cake from the week before. No, in this case, it was a few touches and the cake was re-packaged. Go figure.
These three have a lot of American spirit and dressed for it! In white and blue, the red wall completed their color scheme. The combination of each relationship kept everyone hopping during our half out together!
